Thursday that really feels like a Friday.

I finished my Christmas Card rough draftI am so so on it. I don’t hate it but I don’t love it either. This afternoon I followed along with Lynda videos in Illustrator. I think I am finally getting the hang of PhotoShop now if I could just figure out how to get more comfortable with Illustrator.

Wednesday gone in the PM

I will not be here this afternoon my hearing aids are ready to be picked up in Enid so I will be going to get them. This morning I worked more on the Christmas Card project here is what I have so far. I am trying to figure out how to get to more spots in there for 2 more pictures.  I am hoping to figure out a way to put them where the ornaments are.

Monday

Well My guy that I have been helping lose weight won 2nd place in Kentucky. But man that was the longest trip (1,400 miles round trip). It was a pretty scenic trip I do have to say. Finally got to see the Arch it was closed for construction so we didn’t get to stop and there were so many bridges we drove on. I love bridges I know I’m a dork lol. Today I spent all day in Illustrator it is taking me longer again because I am taking notes again. It helps me have a refresher to hopefully be able to retain it more.

Friday October 23rd

I will not be here. I am on my way to Kentucky for a company conference and stopping to see the Arch in St. Louis Missouri on the way. I am a little excited and already wore out at the same time lol. We are leaving at 4 o clock in the morning getting there hopefully around 5ish Friday evening. Having the conference from 8am-3pm on Saturday and then heading straight back home because I have to be at the church for a committee meeting at 9:30 am. I hope my notes keep me on track for that as I will probably be on autopilot lol.

Generations

I have been put in charge of our group doing a stage at the Bethlehem Experience that most of the churches in Fairview are helping to do as a whole. Each Church as their own stage to do. It is a group project with my church to do our stage. The generations videos and discussions Mrs. Madsen has been doing has made such a difference in how I am seeing the people involved in this with me.  There are 4 generations involved in this project. There is a lady who is the mature. When the group gets to chasing to many rabbit holes as she calls it lol she helps kind of reign us back in. A few weeks ago this was kind of bothersome because I didn’t see it that way I saw it as her getting upset by the way we were doing things. There are a few Baby Boomers in the group that are very quiet and take everything in. I use to assume they just didn’t really want to be there. We have a  Gen X who is always asking questions and wanting to know the whys.  I use to think she was questioning me but now I understand it is the show me part of  Generation X. It is really neat now seeing all these dynamics at play  in the different generations and being aware of it. So I am more able to manage them and understand what it is that makes them work the way they do and to be able to get more out of them and also to be more patient and help them to in turn get more out of me.

Wednesday

Today I tried to find some pics to play with in Photo Shop but I didn’t find any that tickled my fancy. I am hoping to take some awesome pictures this weekend to be able to play with when I get back. I followed along in Lynda on Illustrator I made several templates to maybe be able to use when its time to sit up a web design that will also be able to be viewed on a phone and tablet. I didn’t realize there were many components to make this happen. It is weird how you take things for granted until they are brought to your attention.

Tuesday

I didn’t get much done today. I have so much running thru my head of things that need to get done before I leave for Kentucky Friday. I am also in charge of heading up the church to do our part in the Bethlehem experience the community of Fairview puts on as a whole. If you missed it last year you should check it out this year. I did manage to watch some more Lynda videos on Illustrator and listened in on the generations video’s with the rest of the class. Yes I seen them before but it really does help just in life in general to understand the generation factor between generations. Especially as I get more involved in leadership roles in the church. We definitely have 4 generations involved in the projects at church as a whole.

Monday

Fall Break was not long enough lol. Today was the dedication ceremony for the new part of the building so didn’t really work on much. I did play in photoshop and am thinking of giving my friend something like this for my friend for Christmas.

Pumpkin carving

Today we carved pumpkins. It was fun for me because as sad as it is to admit I have never done it before. I have always had a stinkin thinking attitude so I never tried things because I was like whats the point I will not be able to do it anyway. I am so glad I don’t think like that anymore. Here is what my pumpkin looked like.Im so excited to do this with Bailey now.

Friday

I was a leader for the 6th grade career fair. I really enjoy doing things like that which is so odd because just a year ago the thought of doing anything like that terrified me. I am loving the person I am becoming!
