a little bummed

Didn’t make it in to SLC. This morning I tweeked my mousepad and am pretty sure it is ready to be smadsen approved. This afternoon I followed along with some more lynda videos and made this compound path in Illustrator.

another day

I spent all day redoing my ladybug and then finishing my mouse pad. I know it isn’t gonna look as elaborate as the kids in this class but thats ok. I am slower then most but I think I am starting to get it. I am re sharing my screen shot from yesterday and then sharing the screenshot for my mousepad and then I screen shot it in outline mode so you can see all the details that went in to.

Patiently waiting

I am patiently waiting to find out if I made it into SLC. Today I worked in Illustrator trying to make a ladybug for my mousepad. My Mom has a quilting store in Cherokee named Ladybugs Quilting and more because she loves ladybugs. I was wanting to make her a one of a kind Ladybug mousepad for her but after making my own I am rethinking it. Maybe it will be a practice makes perfect kind of thing. I am really hoping to get another computer and a way to have the adobe package to make my own small business. Between my church, CR, my Saba Business and my moms store I could really take off if I get this stuff figured out. Here is a screenshot of my ladybug in Illustrator. 

SLC Interview

This morning we worked on behavior Interview Questions to prepare those of us for the SLC interview and also just to get bettter prepared for Interviews in general. I also did my SLC interview I am not sure I did so good. I kind of second guessed myself on how to answer and I kept looking at the ceiling. I did do better then I would have a year ago I believe. I am also kind of glad I did it because now I know what to work more on for upcoming interviews that I will be having. I also tried to design a mouse pad in Illustrator I think Im gonna have to get the book and see if maybe I can get something to stick that way. I follow along with the Lynda videos and think Im doing ok and then I go into Illustrator and try to do my own thing I am at a loss.

I will not be here this afternoon. I have an appointment in Enid to have a hearing test to hopefully be able to get some hearing aids. I tried to get on Illustrator this morning to design a mouse pad. I felt like somebody who has never even watched anything on Illustrator I had no clue what to do. everything I tried to do nothing worked. This was very stressful to me.

Long Tuesday

This morning I watched Lynda videos on Illustrator and got to hear Justine sing. She has a very pretty voice I got to hear her before because she thought she was alone in class lol but today she was recording a song. I have had that song stuck in my head all day but it was ok because she really sang it so beautiful. Other then that it was a very boring day. The morning class was very good and quite. This afternoon was just me and Michalyn so it was super boring. I played around in Photoshop and cleaned up some more of Dr. Robbie’s pics and then played around with making a mirror image of Bailey.

That kind of day

It’s Monday. I did some more lynda videos on Illustrator. I also tried to blend some stuff in PhotoShop for a better grade and it didn’t work out. I also tried to edit some pictures my Daughter took over the weekend and these screen shots are of that. I am such an amateur and it really shows. Im not sure what else to do at this point I almost feel like there is no helping me. The right pic is the original an the left is after I removed stuff. I don’t know what I did wrong because it looks very pixelated. Here is another screen shot of me attempted to merge 2 pics together. The background is a pic I took one day on the way to school and the original is another one Bailey took this weekend.

It’s Friday

I tried to take the survey that was on the class website but after doing it for 10 mins it timed out. So I will try again Monday. Today I worked more on the cut pic collage. I think I got it finished. I think I might be getting the hang of photo shop. I used the photoshop essentials and figured out how to make my text look like flames. Then I added the cut out pics I need to get better at smoothing out the edges. I have a feeling that comes with practice. Then I added brush strokes. I think it came out pretty good. The pic of Lola and Bailey in the corner might get taken out because I am noticing looking at it now that it is a little fuzzy. I really hope Illustrator starts clicking for me. I am thinking I might have to get the book and try it that way. Or maybe just get a project out of the book and give it a go and see how it turns out. Hope everybody has a great weekend.

customer service video was something else.

Today we watched a video of a bad example of customer service lol what’s bad is you know somebody had to have had experiences similar to that to be able to make that video. This morning we started on a cut out picture assignment. Here is the start of mine.

 

 

 

 

This afternoon I have to apologize as you know when I take my meds I have a hard time focusing. so I didn’t do much this afternoon. Plus I had to leave at 2pm to take Bailey to a Dr. Appt.

Time is flying

I do not like how fast time seems like it is flying. I worked in photoshop this morning with the first year students. I learn so weird like I am learning I have to learn a little by reading, then watching, sometimes listening. There is no one way I am able to just pick it up and go. But anyway we worked more on the desaturation. This is the pic I started with and how it looked when I was done. I think if I do this picture again I will desaturate everything except the flowers.

 

 

 

My Mom has been wanting a t-shirt with this saying for a year so I used Illustrator and PhotoShop to design this. I used Illustrator to do the letters and the patch and just used PhotoShop for the brush tool to make like a camo effect for the background. Not sure if I really pulled that off but I think it would still look cute on a shirt.
